Pete - Adopted 7/17/17

Handsome three-year-old Pete was recently rescued from a hoarding situation in another state.  He is such a loving and sweet fellow, especially  considering the limited human contact he has had in the past.  His previous life was a very difficult one of neglect, but he has definitely blossomed at GRRR where he is getting all the attention he has missed out in the past

Pete is learning that people can be wonderful, and he is so grateful for every soft word, pat on the head, belly rub or treat from a kind human hand.  He gets along great with all the other dogs at Phoebe's Place. Pete's very favorite pastimes are walks with the volunteers and playtime with the other dogs.

After Pete was rescued he was taken to the vet for a checkup, and it was discovered that precious Pete has been living with heartworm disease.   But, like he has reminded us with his wonderful disposition, Golden hearts can heal and are also very forgiving.  Pete has moved to a special foster home who will care for him during his recovery.  For six weeks following treatment he is being required to remain quiet, which means no running or overexerting himself in any way. He is now halfway through his treatments and hinted that it's time for us to find a forever home for him.

If you would like to see Pete smile with delight at the prospect of going home with you, please write his name on your application.  Pete is a great boy who is so handsome and loving, and once you adopt him you will wonder how you ever got along without him.
