Troy - Adopted 1/18/16

What's shiny, super handsome, looks like a fuzzy black bear and is in need of a loving home?  The answer is Troy (aka Big Boy Troy).  This stunning boy is a 4-year-old Newfoundland/retriever mix who was left at the shelter.  One look at his smiling face and soulful eyes and we couldn't wait to help him.

When he arrived at GRRR he was very thin with matted fur, and he was in need of a lot of tender loving care.  Troy is now dining on high quality food to try to help him gain some much needed weight.  He's always happy to oblige when the dinner dish comes out!

The shelter records indicated he jumped a tall fence and that's why he was surrendered.  We're thinking perhaps he wasn't getting the love and attention he needed, but he's definitely getting plenty of that now.  He loves playing with the other dogs and is so grateful for all the human contact.  Living inside is new to him and he is enjoying it.  He is getting happier and more handsome every day.

A home where Troy gets a lot of attention and isn't left alone for many long lonely hours will be best for him.  Having a canine playmate would be icing on the cake in his new home.

Stay tuned for more information as we get to know more about Troy.  But why wait?  If you've already fallen for his big Teddy Bear face, he would love to meet you and tell you in person why he was meant to be your new best friend.
