Winston - Adopted 2/20/16

If ever there was a Golden who deserved a loving home and a better life, it's sweet Winston.  He's approximately 10 years old and is hoping to find someone wonderful to give him some much needed care and love.  If you are that special person/family, you can make the rest of his life the very best years of his life.

Winston joined us after he was taken to the shelter as a stray.  His owner did not come to claim this precious boy, so the shelter called GRRR to see if we could help him.  Winston came into our care appearing very neglected and acting like he had never been inside a home.  He quickly adjusted and is now the Velcro dog to his foster mom.

We have provided some much needed medical attention.  A cyst on his tail had already grown so large that if it was removed there would be no skin left to close the gap.  The only option for Winston was to have his tail removed.  He recovery is going great, and if you look closely you might just see a little happy wiggle instead of a wag.

The next step for Winston is to have his hips evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon to see if surgery will give him some relief for pain.  For now he is on daily Rimadyl.  If he needs surgery GRRR will provide it for him.  It would be so wonderful for him to be in his new forever home first so he can recover with lots of tender loving care from you.

Winston is such a sweet, deserving Golden.  There is so much you can do to help make up for his life of pain and neglect.  He is hoping you will read this and come by to meet him soon.  The day he heads home with you will be the happiest day of his life.
