Hi everybody, my name is Rosie. I'm a Golden girl with a splash of something special mixed in. My rescuers think it might be Great Pyrenees. I'm about 9 years old and have been through quite a lot. In spite of that, I am very hopeful that in my new life with you I will know what it's liked to be truly loved and cared for. My rescuers say, "Rosie is so sweet that we all couldn't help but fall in love with her."
I came to GRRR from a shelter. Once upon a time I had a family, but when I started having some medical challenges they took me to the shelter to be euthanized. I think they couldn't afford the medical help I needed. That was a very scary time for me. I'm a very loving girl who was -- and still is -- dedicated to my people. The shelter could see ending my life would be a terrible mistake and called GRRR right away for help.
When I arrived at GRRR I had a terrible skin infection and infections in both ears (oh gosh I was so miserable), and I was overweight. I was given weekly medicated baths that helped a lot and felt so good. My ears are all scarred from living with those nasty ear infections and have very small canals from the swelling. They will probably always need extra attention, but the medicine has really improved them. I've been on a healthy diet and I'm feeling happier and healthier every day.
Now for the important part -- I sure need you! Although I'm doing great in my foster home with 8 other dogs, GRRR thinks I would be happiest as an only dog since I like to keep my bed and toys to myself. A nice yard to play in would sure be perfect. Since sometimes I feel I need to protect my people, having a strong leader in my family would take that job off my plate. and I could relax and enjoy life more.
My loving foster mom sums it up perfectly: " Rosie is a sweetheart who really needs a special person to give her a wonderful home that can provide the care and environment she needs to thrive. She is a wonderful companion with her sweet and silly ways."
I can't wait to start the most wonderful chapter in my life with you!
