Sampson - Special needs boy - Adopted 6/10/17

Hi new family, it's me -- Sampson! Stop whatever else you're doing and get started filling out your application to adopt me! ;) I'm 4 years old and, as you can see, I'm a big, handsome Golden fellow. How do you like that white blaze on my chest? I also have the cutest cowlick on my muzzle. Pretty nice, huh? I'm even more dashing in person. I'm searching for a wonderful family who can help me through a rough time. I'm a special needs boy who really needs you and will love you with all my Golden heart.

At such a young age, I have bilateral cataracts in both eyes. The good news is GRRR is going to provide the surgery, medications and all fees associated with caring for my eyes. Soon I should be able to live a normal, happy life. I would LOVE to recover from surgery in my new forever home with you. As wonderful as Phoebe's Place is, it's not exactly a quiet, laidback environment. I will need to be kept calm with no jumping or running or strenuous activities of any sort. I will also be wearing a cone for several weeks. I think your house -- with me cuddled up to you -- would be just perfect. Getting surgery is going to be a life-changing blessing for me, and I don't want to do anything to jeopardize that.

I have one request that is important to me. I want to be your one and only canine family member. In my previous home there was an older dog who didn't understand I couldn't see whose food I was eating -- hers or mine. She would attack me and I would defend myself. In my new home I don't want to feel like I always have to guard my food and feel scared about being attacked. With your help, I will soon recover from my surgery and can begin enjoying outings with you and see this big beautiful world.

I've been described as a lover boy, and I promise to heap all that love on you, my new wonderful very own family. Sigh...I can't wait to meet you ASAP. Let's not let another day go by without each other.
