Spence is a very special boy who is looking for a very special family to call his own. He's about 2 years old and looks even younger because of his smaller size. He came from out of state when his "time was almost up" at the shelter. Because of a leg injury, poor Spence didn't stand a chance of being adopted. GRRR was contacted because he looks like a Glab (Golden/Lab combo). Thankfully Spence is safe with us now.
Spence has a shattered femoral ball and the injury probably occurred several weeks ago. This poor boy must have been in quite a bit of pain before he found his way to us. He can still get around but can't put any weight on the injured leg. He is such a darling fellow who never complains and wants nothing more than to get your attention and spend time with you. The Golden Angel Fund will provide the surgery he needs to repair his leg. The very best thing for Spence would be to find his forever home with you before his surgery. There he will be in familiar surroundings with lots of love from his new family. After a couple of weeks of TLC and restricted activity, he should be enjoying all the things he loves in life.
He is such a sweet and affectionate fellow, and he is going to be a great addition to someone's family. He is full of love for life and loads of enthusiasm. There's nothing he would rather do than run and play with the other dogs, and soon, with your help, he will be able to do just that. A family with a very laid back dog or a senior dog will be best.
Spence will be eagerly waiting to meet you. He's pretty sure once you meet him you will realize why He's that very special best friend you've been searching for.
