Naming Tribute for Kesha
“KESHA GOLDEN ASPEN” lives forever in our hearts. Kesha was born on Friday, April 13, 2001, in a litter of 13 pups, and we lost her on October 1, 2013. A lot of lucky 13’s for Kesha, what a wonderful life and how lucky for all of us who knew her. Kesha lived her years in Basalt and New Castle, Colorado, and went to work every day in historic Basalt where everyone knew and loved her. Kesha was gorgeous, we always laughed and said she was bred for beauty, not brains. But she was a gentle soul, a kind soul, and she lived her life with a simple grace that I’m not sure any of us will ever experience again. She loved her younger sister Molly, and the two Goldens enjoyed life together to the fullest.
We loved our Kesha so very much and miss her every day. Every morning I tell Molly and Lucy — our new Golden adopted from GRRR — that, before anything else, we love the ‘Big Dog’, which is what we called Kesha (Molly is of course the ‘Little Dog’, which has left Lucy the ‘Lu Dog’), and then we think of our other friends who are important to us, then we can get on with our day. Lucy always looks at me with a quizzical look on her sweet face, but she knows it’s important so she listens, and then runs off to find her rope so we can play!
Kesha Golden Aspen has left us, but we wish her name to live on with some lucky Golden who will have very big paws, and an even bigger heart, to fill! This year, April 13th would have been her thirteenth birthday, and this tribute is in her honor and memory.
“Everybody loves the Big Dog”
With your donation of $100 or more, one of GRRR’s rescued Goldens will be named after your dog. Your donation will honor the memory of your loved one and will help us give a rescued dog a new start to a better life. More information on Naming Tributes can be found here.
