Naming Tribute for Hazel

Dear, sweet Hazel lived life to the fullest right to the end. She was playing and running in the yard when her heart gave out. Not knowing her age, we suspect she was 10. The photo of a wet Hazel is so fitting. She absolutely loved attending GRRR’s picnic at Boulder Reservoir each year. I’d always have a very happy wet and tired girl for the ride home. What a character she was! Hazel could watch TV for hours if you let her. Her favorite shows were Cats 101, Animal Planet and anything with people dancing. She was also a tease and a charmer! She’d prance around with Chester’s favorite toys trying to entice him to play. Somehow she got him to leave the last bite of food in his bowl for her each evening. She was also very intent! Every squirrel on the property and a neighbor’s cat would experience her persistence after she’d run them up a tree. We will cherish our memories of Hazel. She was my first rescue dog (Mary was her foster). I wasn’t sure what to expect. It turned out to be a life changing experience. Congratulations to the next Hazel. Thanks to Mary and everyone at GRRR for the loving, caring work they do. Pat McKinnis and Chester
