Naming Tribute

 Almost all of us know the pain of losing a much-loved dog. Of course, there is no way our pet can be replaced, but there is a way that his or her name can be re-born, can live again in another dog. If this sounds like an appealing idea to you, please participate in GRRR's new Naming Tribute program.

This is how it works: With your donation of $100, one of GRRR's rescued Goldens will be named after your dog. With your donation, you will honor the memory of your cherished pet, and your donation will help us give a rescued dog a new start in a new and better life. Perhaps someone close to you has just lost their dog. This is a way to express your sympathy and understanding. If you send us a photo of the dog with your donation, we will publish it on our website (please send to info@goldenrescue.com). Or, you can name a dog after your favorite person, or just name a dog because you like the name!

Donation Card Program

If you would like to donate to GRRR in someone else's honor, we will provide you with a nice "greeting card" to give to that person to let them know that you made a donation to our Golden Angel Fund ($10 minimum donation please). We have cards for Birthday, Christmas, Weddings, In Memory, and General (and will be adding more holidays later) - see all the card designs on the downloadable form below. To get your cards, fill out the form and check the box(es) to let us know which card(s) you would like us to mail to you, and mail in the form with your donation. If you're using Paypal, please write the number of the card(s) you would like in the comment section. Please allow 1 -2 weeks to receive your order.  Thank you!

The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge

Now you can help The Animal Rescue Site choose which eligible Petfinder.com animal rescue organizations will receive special funds to help animals! Participating is simple. You can cast one vote every day for your favorite rescue (Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies, hint hint). Eligible organizations with the most votes could receive a weekly prize and/or one of the other grants! More than 60 grants will be awarded for a total of $100,000 going to eligible Petfinder.com members by the end of July 2009.

Voting ends at midnight (PST) on July 26th, 2009. The more friends you can rally to vote for GRRR, the better our chances of winning. Get people involved! GRRR is counting on you!

Recycling for Our Goldens

Think globally.  How would you like to help GRRR earn money with very little effort? And, it won’t cost you a thing either! U.S. Recycling has contacted GRRR about recycling our empty inkjet cartridges, cell phones, and PDA’s. They provide the envelopes for shipping (with GRRR’s information), pay for the shipping, and then send GRRR money for our efforts. How easy is that?

All you have to do is check their "buy back list" prior to mailing your cartridges etc. (this list is subject to change). Just a simple toll-free phone call to 888-628-363, or a quick check of their website (www.usrecycleink.com) and you’re good to go. Once the bag returns, they credit our organization for the money due. It is so easy!

We can do this on an individual basis or on a company basis. If you wish to have a collection site at your office or business U.S. Recycling will work with us to provide free promotional materials and shipping supplies. Maybe you know a small business that you could ask to collect these items, or a big business would be great too.

Every second nine printer cartridges are discarded in our landfills. It is a good deal for our environment and a good deal for our Goldens. U.S.

Draw Your Dog Fundraiser

Paul Atzmiller, a GRRR member and children’s book author/illustrator, has come up with a unique way to share his talent and raise money for GRRR. It works like this:

•Send paul a GOOD photo of your dog (He’ll keep the photo for advertising).

•Paul will draw a 9x12" black &white, pencil drawing of your dog’s head (you’ll receive it in a few weeks).

You write a check in the amount of your choice and send it to GRRR with the form.

•Paul has drawn over 30 dogs for GRRR members so far, and has also drawn many animals benefitting MaxFund Animal Rescue and the Colorado Animal Shelter.

United Way Checkoff

Contributions to United Way are divided among numerous organizations unless specified otherwise. But did you know that you can name GRRR as the

501(c)(3) organization to which you want your contribution earmarked? Check with your employer for details. Many corporate campaigns begin soon.
