ROWAN HAS BEEN ADOPTED AND LIVING A WONDERFUL LIFE!
Rowan is GRRR’s newest Golden Angel. He’s only 15 months old and his greatest joy in life is to be loved. Karen, a wonderful Golden rescue person in South Dakota, discovered him in a shelter. He was found as a stray and never claimed. Rowan is very handsome with a wonderful personality and happy Golden disposition, but Karen knew he had no chance of being adopted there. She arranged to get him out of the shelter and part way towards Colorado. GRRR volunteers Sandra and Pete brought him the rest of the way to Golden and GRRR.
During his routine exam with Dr. Gadd, it was discovered Rowan has a serious injury that was left untreated for a long time (probably the result of being hit by a car). X-rays confirmed Rowan needs FHO surgery. His femur sits on the side of the hip socket where it constantly rubs and causes pain. He was immediately started on Rimadyl for the pain and will be undergoing surgery. After surgery the cartilage and muscles can take over and he will be able to live an active life. He is also extremely thin and had a bad ear infection that is being treated, but nothing stops this happy fellow. He is playful and alert, and his tail never stops wagging.
The Golden Angel Fund has come to his rescue and his life has been saved. He shows his gratitude every single day to everyone at GRRR and at the animal hospital. If ever there was a Golden who deserved a second chance, it’s sweet Rowan. His soft expressive eyes tell it all – Rowan is so very grateful for the love, kindness and help he is receiving through your support of the Golden Angel Fund.
