Avery-11 weeks old (adopted)
Avery is a sweet and rambunctious 11-week-old Golden Retriever puppy. She is a very special girl. Avery suffers from a deformity in her right front leg and right front paw. One of her bones is bowed out and the other bone has folded in on itself, likely as a result of the bowing. Her right front paw also never fully developed. It is unclear if Avery was born this way or if this occurred during the birthing process. After much consideration, GRRR’s vet has determined that it is best to remove Miss Avery’s leg. Despite this challenge Avery is still a very happy puppy. Avery is very much a puppy and has no idea that she has anything wrong with her. She probably has no idea that her crooked little leg shouldn’t be tripping her as she runs. Avery is a smart little girl and quickly catches on. She loves to go for car rides and to play with her furry foster siblings. Avery is still working on her potty training, but she is able to sleep through the night and doesn’t mind being in her crate. We would love to have Avery settled in her forever home prior to her surgery which will occur when she is between 12 and 16 weeks old. We have no doubt that Avery will adjust just fine to this change. Avery’s new home should be a home that doesn’t have a lot of stairs, a person or family where someone can spend a lot of time with her especially during the recovery process. Avery is and will continue to be a joy and has a lifetime of love to share with a very special person or family. If you are willing to open your heart to this sweet girl please fill out an adoption application and mention Avery’s name. We promise you won’t be disappointed to bring this wonderful girl into your life. If you are interested in learning more about Avery, you must review the Adoption process and then complete the online application. All medical bills associated with Avery’s surgery will be paid for by GRRR.
