Charlie Wayne is a handsome 5½-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. While he can be a little anxious at times, those who know him best will tell you that his loving nature more than makes up for it. He’s the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with his people and thrives on companionship.
One of Charlie’s greatest loves in life is food! Treats are the way to his heart, and they’re also the perfect motivation when it’s time to show off his impressive collection of tricks and basic commands. He’s a smart boy who enjoys learning and loves making his people proud.
Charlie would do best in a calm, adult-only home where he can feel secure and settled. Because he becomes attached to his family, he may experience some separation anxiety when left alone for extended periods or confined to small spaces. A patient adopter who understands his sensitive nature will be rewarded with a loyal and devoted companion.
Charlie truly enjoys the company of other dogs and has made many canine friends along the way. He’s also a favorite among our volunteers, who adore his sweet personality and affectionate spirit. He likes to keep an eye on his home and will bark to let you know when someone arrives, even if it’s a familiar face.
