Gracie-1.5 years old (Female) Adopted 7/18/20

Category:

Gracie is a new arrival at GRRR.  This beauty is 1.5 yrs old, spayed, current on vaccinations and clear of heartworm.  Gracie came to us when another rescue was short on foster homes and overwhelmed with numerous guardian dogs being abandoned by their owners.  So GRRR stepped in to keep Gracie from going to a shelter.  Gracie is a livestock guardian breed.  We were told she is a Great Pyrenees, but she seems to not have a lot of the physical characteristics of a Great Pyrenees.  Maybe Akbash or Kuvasz?  Whatever her breed or breeds, she is a beautiful girl. Gracie is a snuggler and a lover. She doesn’t seem to understand how big she is and will try to give you a hug which could knock you down.  We are working on breaking that habit. Gracie has beautiful silky hair and is in good physical condition. She has no livestock guarding experience.  Gracie has lived with a family inside her entire life.  She has good house manners, but is tall enough where her head is counter height so she could snatch a snack pretty easily.  Gracie has been with other dogs and plays pretty well.  Gracie does appear to want to be in charge of the flock of dogs in her foster home.  Gracie would need a home that is looking for a very large dog. An adult home willing to socialize her and get her into group training classes.  Gracie would love to sleep on the bed with you, but again she is a big girl.  Gracie has many traits typical of a guardian dog.  She is very alert to new sounds, people, and things going on around her.  Gracie is on a regular diet and will be a wonderful companion to a new family who has time and love to share with her. Gracie will not be placed in a home with a cat or a small dog. PLEASE READ OUR ADOPTION GUIDELINES PRIOR TO FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION!!
