Meet Herman — a charming, affectionate Goldendoodle with a heart as big as his personality. At approximately 4 years old, Herman is playful, energetic, and wonderfully people‑oriented. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, adores human attention, and has a way of winning everyone over with his sweetness and character.
Herman’s road to GRRR wasn’t easy. He arrived as an emaciated stray with almost no hair, suffering from low thyroid levels and both yeast and bacterial skin infections. Despite how uncomfortable he must have been, his gentle spirit never wavered. We immediately began treatment with oral medications and weekly medicated baths — and in true Herman fashion, he turned those “spa days” into bonding time, soaking up every bit of attention from the groomers.
In the beginning, play was unfamiliar to him. But once he discovered toys and the joy of romping around, he blossomed. Today, Herman is active, silly, and loves to have fun. Indoors, he’s quiet, cuddly, and happiest when he’s close to his people. He looks forward to seeing the volunteers each day and greets them with enthusiasm and affection.
His transformation has been nothing short of remarkable. Herman’s coat is finally growing back, his health has improved dramatically, and his joyful personality shines brighter than ever. He will need ongoing grooming as his coat continues to recover, but he handles it with grace — and even enjoyment.
Herman is a truly special boy who has overcome so much with resilience and love. He’s ready for a family who will cherish him, celebrate his progress, and give him the forever home he so deeply deserves.
