Rubia is approximately a 2 yr old golden mix who was originally a street dog from Chile. A woman visiting Chile fell in love with Rubia and worked with other people here in the US to get arrangements made for Rubia to come to the US and join this woman’s family. It was a group effort but after a lot of work, Rubia was brought to the US. Rubia was used to running the streets and had her own little routine where she would go to a certain restaurant daily for food. It was the employees who fed her and became fond of her who named her Rubia. Rubia was brought to the US for her to become part of a family. She won the hearts of many people in Chile and then in the US. When Rubia arrived in the US a forever home had been arranged with a person who had met her in Chile. Once Rubia arrived in the US, she joined her new family. Unfortunately the resident dog in the home and Rubia didn’t hit it off well. Rubia was then placed into a foster home while the people who helped rescue her from the streets of Chile worked to try and find her a different home. Rubia has some behaviors that make her placement a little more challenging so they asked GRRR for help. Rubia has been bounced around a lot in this journey and we feel she is ready to settle in and become a very special, loyal and loving companion to someone special. Some of the things that make Rubial sepcial are her ability to go over a 6ft fence and then she likes to roam. Rubia does return home at the end of the day to snuggle and join in with her family’s activities. That may have worked in Chile, but not safe for Rubia here. Rubia needs an all adult home where she will be exercised on leash. We feel Rubia and her adopter(s) would benefit from obedience classes for her an her adopters to learn some basic skills and a better understanding of each other. Rubia is a very athletic and active girl who really needs an active owner where she can enjoy a high activity lifestyle with them. Rubia is very affectionate and loving but needs to establish trust with her new person(s).. Rubia needs a very stable and committed owner who can give her the security of a happy life and home.
