Yogi-7 months old (male) Adopted 1/8/21

Category:

Yogi is a golden retriever mix, 50 lbs, approximately 7 months old who has had a rough ending to 2020.  Yogi was hit by a car in December and taken to a shelter.  Poor little Yogi laid in the shelter for 8 days waiting for his owners to reclaim him, and had to wait until hold time was up before being seen by a veterinarian, receiving pain meds and having x-rays done.  Yogi has a broken acetabulum(socket of hip bone) and needed more extensive care than the shelter could provide.  GRRR was asked if we could take him into our care and the answer was of course yes.  Yogi was transported to GRRR on New Year’s Eve by one of our volunteers.  Yogi’s x-rays were reviewed by our own vet Dr. Scott Carpenter and our orthopedic specialist, Dr. Bauer.  Yogi is scheduled for surgery on January 6th and will receive the best possible medical care any dog could ask for.  Yogi is a very sweet boy and we can’t imagine how anyone could just leave him in the shelter in the condition he was in.  Since he is such a special little guy, we thought we would start looking for him a perfect home.  Yogi will need follow-up care after surgery, recheck and likely need physical therapy.  All of his medical expenses related to his injuries will be paid for by GRRR.  Yogi will need a quiet home to recover in, leash walks outside after surgery for potty breaks.  No off leash play, stairs or jumping on furniture or beds.  The recovery time will depend on the surgery that is done and we will update the information as we receive the information.

Yogi would love a home where he will be treated with kindness, understanding and care.  He is a sweet boy and we want to find him the best possible home.  If you are interested in Yogi, please read our adoption process on our website, and then if you are interested complete & submit the online application.
