Bougie is an 11-month-old female Great Pyrenees mix. Bougie came into our care when she was no longer wanted by her family and the rescue in Utah was unable to find a foster home for Bougie. Bougie was living on an 8 foot chain on the side of the house. Bougie was neglected. Bougie was very timid and unsure of strangers. A kind volunteer took her food and water every day trying to earn Bougie’s trust before she made the trip to Colorado. After a week of daily visits filled with treats, good food, cold water, kindness and affection, Bougie was ready to make her trip to Colorado. Bougie arrived and was unsure of her new surroundings. She already had a bond with the special volunteer and wanted to keep her in her sight. Bougie quickly found reassurance from her foster sisters and brothers. And then she soon felt comfortable with her foster mom. It took a little time for her to get used to people coming in and out of the house. But she watched the others greeting everyone with wagging tails. We have exposed her to being a normal dog, playing with other dogs, having toys, trusting people, living inside, sleeping inside and having a good and happy environment. She is eating well, having a lot of fun with the other dogs and enjoying people who come to visit. Bougie will need a home that can give her the security and love she deserves. Bougie would benefit from an obedience training class to learn some manners and become more social with people. Bougie is a very sweet and loving girl who needs a kind and loving person who can give her love, guidance and the security that she needs. Bougie will need to be in an adult only home.
