Meet Brady!
Brady is a handsome 4-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. For most of his life, he enjoyed the freedom of running and exploring on acreage as the only dog in the home. He was a beloved companion who was deeply cherished by his owner.
When his owner, now in her 80s, moved to a 55+ community without a fenced yard, life became more challenging for Brady. Having never needed a leash while living on acreage, he had little experience with leash walking, and the transition proved difficult. Wanting what was best for him, his owner made the heartbreaking decision to help him find a home better suited to his needs.
Brady is looking for a forever family with a securely fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs and enjoy the freedom he loves. He would do best as the only dog in the home, allowing him to soak up all the love and attention from his people.
Since coming into rescue, Brady has been hard at work with our volunteers, learning leash manners and gaining positive experiences around other dogs. He is making progress and will thrive with a patient adopter who is committed to continuing his training and helping him build confidence.
At 115 pounds, Brady could stand to lose a few pounds, but with regular exercise, an active lifestyle, and sensible portion control, reaching a healthier weight should be very achievable.
Brady’s ideal home is one where he can be a loyal, devoted companion to someone who appreciates his loving nature and is willing to invest a little time in his continued training. In return, Brady will offer unwavering companionship, affection, and plenty of joyful moments.
