Chai-1 year old (Female) Adopted 4/19/21

Hi, I am Chai!  I am around 1 year old and full of energy and love.  GRRR took me in when I was going through a lot of stuff and my life is so different now.  My original home was pretty busy.  I was living with a family who had many small children and they didn’t have time to “raise me” too.  I was put outside to raise myself.  I lived in a yard where I learned to run up and down the fence barking at anyone and everyone who passed by.  It was so frustrating for me because I just wanted to play but quickly learned that when I barked at the other dogs and people going by, they would leave.  So, that became my main game.  When I was out there alone I would get so excited when the children would come outside.  I was so happy thinking I would have someone to play with me, but in a very excited state, I couldn’t control my excitement and would accidentally knock them down.  The parents decided I was no longer someone they wanted, so I was given away to a very nice lady.  The nice lady had two her dogs, one was very old and sick, and the other dog was very small.  Again my energy was too much for their situation.  The sweet lady tried to make things work, but I was just not a good fit for that situation.  I needed training and attention that she wasn’t able to give to me, her older dog was just too sick.  That is how I found my way to GRRR.  She called and told them all she knew about my past and how I came to be with her.  I arrived and was welcomed into the gang.  Again, I have a lot of energy but nothing some training, love, and patience can’t fix. My eyes were a big concern for the GRRR folks, as you can see in my pictures they are sore and running.  I had a condition called entropion eyes and needed to have surgery to relieve the eyelashes from constantly rubbing my eyes. I have had my surgery and no more pain!  I was my silly self and was the champion of destroying e-collars during my 14 days of having to keep one on.  I am all healed, stitches out, spayed, current on all of my vaccines, and ready for a forever home.  What I am told is, I need a very active, strong, patient, and fun-loving adopter.  I need a fenced yard to run off some energy and learn how to enjoy it the right way.   They say it’s important that I have someone who is committed to taking me to obedience training to teach me the lessons I was never taught.  If you are looking for a fun buddy and are strong, but a patient leader I would really like to meet you. Unfortunately I do not like cats so I can not go to a home with cats. If you are interested in meeting me, please go to the GRRR website www.goldenrescue.com, read the adoption process first, and then complete the online application.  If you think we might be a great team, please don’t forget to mention my name.
